HR Conflict Management & Resolution (HRCMR)
The 20-Hour Live Virtual Intensive | September 15–17, 2026
Early Bird: $847 through August 20th. Standard tuition $997.
Stop Firefighting. Start Resolving.
You're the person who gets called when a situation has already escalated — the tense department, the separation that could go sideways, the disagreement that's hardened into something stuck. You manage it Tuesday and it resurfaces Friday. That loop is exhausting, and it's a real liability.
HRCMR is built to break the loop. Over three live days, you'll move from reacting to conflict to reading it — learning the specific language, frameworks, and self-regulation that let you walk into a difficult conversation with a plan instead of instinct.
Earn 20.00 SHRM PDCs and 20.00 HRCI credits — a third of your three-year recertification cycle, in one cohort.
What You'll Be Able to Do
This program is built around what you actually say and decide in the room. By the end, you'll have practiced:
- Tactical De-escalation — the verbal scripts that lower the temperature of a heated exchange and reframe aggression into a workable business interest.
- The Inquiry Shift — a structured questioning sequence that moves a person from reactivity toward problem-solving.
- The Resolution Spectrum & Selection Matrix — a method for choosing the right intervention for a given dispute, based on your goal, the level of risk, and whether the parties can currently reason.
- Difficult Conversation Protocols — structured approaches for behavioral corrections, performance interventions, and high-stakes separations, handled with professional boundaries and a defensible record.
- Resilience & Self-Regulation — how to stay the steadiest person in the room and keep one team's tension from spreading across a department.
- Digital & Hybrid Friction — resolving the conflict that hides in Slack threads and distributed teams where context gets lost.
- The Risk Lens — reading conflict as an organizational exposure, recognizing retaliation indicators, and intervening before a situation becomes a grievance or an EEO claim.
Who This Is For
If your work is defined by high-stakes people problems, you're in the right place:
- HR Directors & Business Partners — moving from referee to architect of a healthier culture.
- Employee Relations Specialists — the practitioners who own separations, investigations, and grievances.
- Risk & Compliance Managers — treating conflict as the liability it is, and reducing it early.
- People & Operations Leaders — resolving team friction before it becomes a formal complaint.
-
Small Business & Nonprofit Leaders — handling sensitive dynamics without a full HR department behind them.
How the 20 Hours Work
Every hour is live or coached — nothing here is a video you watch alone.
- Live instruction and practice (13.5 hours). Three days with a live instructor, working through Representative Practice Scenarios drawn from real HR and Risk situations — escalated separations, peer disputes, hybrid-team friction, harassment and retaliation exposure, and multi-party investigations. Each is practiced and debriefed together.
- Applied work between sessions (6.5 hours). You'll draft your own resolution scripts, build your own frameworks, and bring your own real scenarios. This work is reviewed with the instructor in the next live session — it isn't a completion checkbox, it's the material the next day's coaching is built on.
The Three Days
Day 1 — Foundations & Resolution
The anatomy of escalation, the Inquiry Shift, and the Resolution Spectrum. Guided de-escalation practice.
Day 2 — Representative Practice Scenarios
A full day of live practice with structured feedback: choosing the right framework, deploying the right script, and debriefing each one.
Day 3 — Leadership, Resilience & Capstone
Self-regulation under pressure, resolving digital and hybrid friction, and a capstone integration lab that brings the full toolkit together.
What You'll Leave With
- 20.00 SHRM PDCs and 20.00 HRCI credits — a third of a recertification cycle
- The HRCMR Designation from the Conflict Management Institute
- The full Resolution Toolkit — the Tactical Script Bank, framework references, and protocol guides, built to open on a real Tuesday morning

Will there be an exam?
No exam. Certification is awarded for full attendance and active participation in the live theory and role-plays. By the final afternoon, you will have successfully worked through multiple workplace scenarios with feedback — if you can do that, you’re certified.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, upon successful completion, you will receive a formal certificate and a digital badge from the Conflict Management Institute. Your HRCMR certification remains valid for a period of two years from the date of issuance. To maintain your credential and stay current with evolving industry standards, you will have the opportunity to renew every two years.
Additionally, as this is a live, interactive program, you may receive separate certificates or credits for accrediting bodies such as SHRM and HRCI, depending on your professional requirements.
Is the HRCMR Certification Available On-Demand?
The HR Conflict Management & Resolution (HRCMR) program is intentionally designed as a 3-day live virtual intensive rather than a pre-recorded course. We’ve found that "passive learning" simply doesn't work when the goal is resolving high-stakes workplace friction.
Conflict resolution is a contact sport. The core of this program is the Digital Lab, where you engage in real-time, lab-based role plays and tactical de-escalation drills that cannot be replicated in an on-demand format. Mastering the "scripts" for a hostile termination, a toxic department reset, or a hybrid team's communication breakdown requires immediate feedback, adaptive coaching, and the heat of a live interaction.
Furthermore, the 20.00 SHRM and HRCI credits—which cover a full third of your recertification cycle—are tied to this high-engagement, live-coached environment. By participating in the live cohort, you aren't just watching a video; you are building the muscle memory and authentic confidence needed to walk back into your organization and lead through any dispute on Day 1. On-demand delivery is simply incompatible with our commitment to providing a "one-and-done" solution for your professional growth and recertification needs.
